Wyoming Co. animal shelter manager dies

Posted at: 07/09/2012 12:12 PM

A former animal shelter manager involved in a SPCA raid earlier this year is dead.

Attica Police say they were called to a home in Attica on Saturday for a report of a sick person. When officers arrived, they found 58-year-old Susan Davila unresponsive. She was taken to the Wyoming County Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The raid at the shelter took place in February. Officials say they found more than 500 cats living in filthy conditions. She was charged with 20 counts of animal cruelty.

Attica Police are investigating the death but say right now, there is no indication of foul play.
