Search is on for golden cookie stolen in Germany

BERLIN (AP) ? Missing: One golden cookie, weighing around 44 pounds (20 kilograms).

Suspect: The Cookie Monster?

The rectangular gilded bronze sculpture was part of a statue gracing the facade of German cookie baker Bahlsen's Hannover office.

How the century-old symbol was taken remains unclear, but police say witnesses reported having seen two men with a ladder in the area earlier this month.

The company has offered ?1,000 ($1,350) for information leading to the cookie's recovery.

A police statement said a local newspaper received a picture Tuesday showing someone in an outfit similar to Sesame Street's Cookie Monster holding a golden cookie.

The sender wrote to demand cookies be delivered to children at a city hospital.

Police aren't sure if it's the same cookie, or a real claim of responsibility.

Blackberry Z10 UK pricing revealed: all devices 4G-ready, free on ?36 per-month contracts

Liked what you saw? Even happier then, as a Brit, you'll likely be getting your hands on it months before your US cousins. UK networks have started to announce availability for the handset, with EE, O2, Three and Vodafone already confirmed to be stocking the Z10. Retailers that will also be selling the new BB10 hardware in the British Isles include Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U.

Retailer Phones 4U will launch both color options (exclusively, at least initially) although it hasn't ventured a contract-free price just yet. The Carphone Warehouse, meanwhile will be offering the Z10 free on contracts of £36 per month on the major networks.

Vodafone will offer the Z10 for £29 on the £42 a month Red Data plan, including unlimited calls and texts as well as 2GB of internet. It'll be free on the £47 a month variant of plan, or cost £69 one-of payment on the £37 per month plan. Three UK hasn't revealed any details beyond that it'll be stocking the handset.

While all Z10 devices sold will be ready for 4G, according the Waterloo crew, the BlackBerry Z10 will be available to utilize EE's existing 4G service immediately. The price? It'll be £50 on a £41 per-month 24 month package, with 1GB of mobile data, as well as unlimited UK calls and texts. No word just yet on whether Orange and T-Mobile will be offering cheaper bundles later. We'll update here when we hear more pricing details from the other players.

Flames reach out to community - The Good In Sports

The Calgary Flames are committed to making a difference on and off the ice in 2013. ?On Tuesday, they announced many programs and events. ?Details are below.

(Via the Calgary Flames) ? Calgary, AB (January 29, 2013)???The Calgary Flames are committed both on and off the ice. Through the following programs and events, Flames players give back in support of the community this season.?

• Jay Bouwmeester?has aligned with the H.E.R.O.S. (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society) program for the third season. Bouwmeester donates tickets to program participants and visits events with program youth.?

• Mark Giordano?is a spokesman for Habitat for Humanity and appears in many of the organizations communication materials. He and his wife Lauren are chairs of the Habitat for Humanity ?5 for 5? initiative which raises funds for the construction of five homes in five different countries. Giordano donated $25,000 to this initiative for the past three seasons.?

• Cory Sarich?is the Honourary Chair of the Country Hills Classic Presented by the Mavericks Chuckwagon Society which raises funds for the Flames Foundation for Life and Children?s Link Society. This year?s event in June raised over $200,000 for Children?s Charities.?

• Mikael Backlund?has partnered with both the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.??As part of this partnership?Backlund will donate $150.00 per point during the regular season to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta. Backlund has also donated tickets t for program youth to attend a Flames game and meet him after.?

• Jarome Iginla?continues to support KidSport Calgary and Canada, donating $2,000 for every goal he scores during the regular season. The Flames captain has raised over $550,000 for the organization.?

• Matt Stajan?is a spokesperson for the Alberta Children?s Hospital. The Flames forward donated a set of season tickets to youth receiving care at the hospital and will be participating in the Hospital?s fundraising activities and events.?

• Curtis Glencross?will host his second?annual Glencross Invitational Charity Roughstock Event on August 22^nd?and 23^rd?in the Red Deer area. Last year?s event which Glencross spearheaded raised $200,000 in benefit of the Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer and the Hockey Alberta Foundation?s Every Kid Every Community.?

• Derek Smith?has made a commitment to the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary this season. He will donate a group of tickets to a Flames game with a meet and greet and will visit clubs in the city where he will play floor hockey with the kids.?

• Miikka Kiprusoff?will donate $10.00 to the Children?s Cottage Society for every save he makes during the 2012-2013 regular season. He has donated over $40,000 to the organization. The Flames goaltender has also donated over $55,000 to the Rainbow Society of Alberta.

• Alex Tanguay?has partnered for the third season with the Canadian Cancer Society directed to stomach cancer research. Tanguay donates $200.00 per assist during the regular season, or a minimum donation of $10,000, to the national cancer organization?s Alberta/NWT division. KPMG will match the donation once again this year as the official sponsor of the program.?

• Chris Butler?has aligned himself with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) for the Butler?s Big Deals program. Butler will donate two tickets every two weeks as well as make regular appearances at BBBS events. He will also act as a spokesperson for the organization.?

The Flames Foundation for Life matches each player?s donations up to $25,000.?Through various initiatives, the Calgary Flames Hockey Club and their charitable arm; the Flames Foundation for Life, continue to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.

Further the above personal commitments all Flames players continue to be actively involved in team fundraisers and community programs such as Pond Hockey by Enmax Energy, Flames Ambassador Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament, Reading?Give it a Shot literacy program, and community appearances through the Flames Foundation for Life and Community Relations programming.

Industries of Past and Present: The Offices of Ubiqiutous

UK creative agency Ubiquitous stripped their offices bare and rebuilt them from the ground up. The result? A combination the industries of the past with the technology of today in a merging of wood and metal that's incredibly beautiful.

Vienna museum invites nudists to see "Naked Men"

(Reuters) - Vienna's Leopold Museum will welcome naked viewers from the public in an after-hours showing of its controversial and popular exhibit "Naked Men", a spokesman said on Tuesday.

The Leopold, known for its unrivalled collection of works by Austrian artist Egon Schiele, was inspired to invite the public to get naked after an inquiry from a group of German nudists.

"There was a request by an association from Germany for a nude guided tour," the spokesman said. "We thought about it, and decided it would be a good idea to have a special nude viewing open to the public."

But he dissuaded any members of the public from dropping by just to gawk at the visiting nudists.

"If you are not a nudist you are welcome to come clothed. But we don't want voyeurs so it's better not to be clothed."

The exhibition, which has been extended to run until March 4, is designed to show the diverse and changing depictions of male nudity in art history.

Among its exhibits is a grotesque self-portrait by Schiele, and a photograph called "Vive La France" of three men of different races wearing nothing but blue, white and red socks and soccer boots.

Together with a special exhibition to commemorate the 150th birthday of Viennese painter Gustav Klimt, "Naked Men" helped boost visitor numbers at the Leopold by 17 percent to more than 364,000 last year.

"We noticed a large increase in young people attending the museum, about 10 percent more," said the spokesman. "Having both "Naked Men" and "Klimt: Up Close and Personal" brought a lot of people in this past year."

A German museum-goer was even inspired to imitate the art and strip naked while walking around the exhibition in December. Visitors appeared undisturbed, assuming he belonged to the show.

However, "Naked Men" has caused controversy among more conservative elements of Austrian society.

In October, the Leopold bowed to pressure and covered up the genitalia of the three nude male soccer players used on large publicity posters around the city after they caused outrage among parents and religious groups.

"Their reaction is not a part of liberal thinking in the 21st century," the spokesman said.

"This is an unprecedented exhibition of male nudity here in Austria, something no other country has done," he added. "Hopefully it will be replicated around the world."
